Bernie Sanders: “I Am Prepared to Run for President of the United States.”
By A. Shaw
On March 6, 2014, Bernie Sanders told The Nation “I Am Prepared to Run for President of the United States.”
Bernie was right. He was and still is prepared.
On March 6 last year, Bernie knew he was behind GOPs and most of the DPs when it came to money.
Flow of money to Bernie picks up after Bernie demonstrates he’s a candidate and a viable candidate.
How much faith Bernie has in the US people and how much faith the people have in Bernie?
We’ll know the answers April 30 when Bernie states his intentions.
Right now, Bernie’s money pitch is “Please donate, however, I may not run.”
Given this bizarre money pitch, the performance of Bernie so far with respect to fundraising is amazingly good.
Being behind in money hasn’t prevented Bernie’s rise from No.8 to a de facto No.2 position in the DP primary field.
Clinton, Biden, Warren, and Bernie occupy the top four positions. Biden and Warren aren’t running.
So, that leaves Clinton and a de facto Bernie.
Clinton is testing a tactic highlighting Clinton gushing up close and personal over working and middle class individuals.
Bernie’s tactic is hammering with the old standby “It’s the economy, stupid.” before large and enthusiastic audiences.
Tactically, Bernie’s ahead.
Clinton doesn’t want a contest between her and Bernie over audience size and liveliness. She knows she will lose.
To Clinton, audience size is supplied by the media for which she has set aside a lot of her money.
So, Clinton may chiefly rely on her televised gushing over the working and middle classes.
