Nicolas Maduro: We are living in a time of new relations
Â
HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 10 (acn) This is the time for the diplomacy of dialog, peace and a new era for relations between the two Americas, said Bolivarian President Nicolas Maduro on Thursday.
During a mass ceremony at the Miraflores presidential palace, Maduro said that the new era is no longer utopia, but a reality and everything that can be done in the diplomatic arena must help the peoples of the continent to achieve their right to live in peace and democracy.
This is the time of Socialism as the only option to build more humane societies and rescue what we have been and all that we have fought for, he noted.
Maduro recalled that Bolivarian leader Hugo Chavez said at the Cartagena Summit that if Cuba continued to be excluded of those regional forums, many Latin American and Caribbean nations would not attend anymore. This is the reason that Cuba is now at the 7th Summit of the Americas, which means a victory of solidarity.
When Raul takes his seat in Panama, it will also means that Fidel will be there, Chavez will be there and the dignity of our continent will be there; it will be just a passing second of history that represents centuries, Maduro stressed.
