FBI repression of peace activists opposed in Houston
By James Thompson
HOUSTON – A group of activists from a diverse group of organizations gathered today at 5:30pm in front of the Mickey Leland Federal Building in Houston to express their solidarity with the peace activists in Chicago and Minneapolis and in other parts of the country who were subjected to raids by the FBI. These activists had their computers seized as well as other materials.
The activists represented a number of progressive organizations to include the Houston Peace Council, Harris County Green Party, Fire Collective and CPUSA Houston.
The activists signs proclaimed “Stop FBI repression of peace activists!â€, “Opposing war is not illegal!†and other slogans critical of the recent FBI actions against the peace activists.
We chanted, “Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, FBI raids have got to go!â€
Our demonstration was part of a national day of action to express solidarity with the targeted peace activists.
